Real name Joe Boyer, the American musician previously worked with Columbus punk band Chomp, and also grafted alongside Cloud Nothings. In contrast to those hard-edged manoeuvres, though, Joey Sprinkles is a melodic affair, recalling those late 70s power pop cuts but in a defiantly 21st century context.

New cut “Where Did I Go” is a wonderfully succinct, engrossingly bittersweet affair. Co-directors Steven Wilson and Ken Wendt took charge of the video, which makes cute animation to some very serious themes.

Joe Boyer explains: “The idea of the video came from the main idea of the song, wondering how and why I’ve wound up where I have on a personal and material level. I thought the best representation would be the ultimate unknown, space. I also believe that we create our own isolation, thus the hand drawn space shuttle backgrounds and hands on approach to all of the background animation”.
