Two garage-punk acts from the UK
From Tokyo, Japan
The fiest two bands are on their way to Goner Fest in Memphis and picking up some dates along the way. After 16 years, 4 LPs, and a whole slew of tremendous singles, The Hipshakes require no introduction to any longtime fan of garage punk. Their records flirt with full-fledged pop sensibilities, but ultimately sound like the work of a band that above all else just loves to bash it out.
Manchester’s Proto Idiot make sneering, shambolic, distinctly Brit-variety garage rock that’s like a sonic two-finger-salute in everyone’s direction (think early Who and Kinks filtered through Television Personalities and The Fall) .

The Molice are a Japanese band who draw inspiration from 70’s punk’s DIYspirit, 80’s new wave, power pop and 90’s unchained indies guitar rock. They are currently recording at Robby Takac’s GCR Audio and just played the main stage at Music Is Art.
